Choosing a tool is the next step after selecting an aim. Depending on what your aim is will depend on the tools you require. Internet marketing does not require any tools except your brain! The best way to go about creating a website as a beginner to web design is through the use of blogs. Internet marketing can be easily applied here with the basics understood through just this one example alone. I know alot of people disagree with this method but many high rollers support this. I believe it is the best option if you are a beginner in web design as you do not need to learn any languages before you can practice content writing. How to go about Internet marketing will be explained in a later post (for all you money making addicts!).

Now.. the tools you will use are a text editor, ftp (file transfer protocol) client and possibly some graphics programs. Your choice of text editor is important as this will effect the amount of time it will take you to learn and also the quality of your code. The most popular off the shelf product for this job is of course Adobe dreamweaver. I have used it in the past and it is a good tool for beginners. As your skills progress, web designers always settle down with their own choices of tool and im sure this will be the same for you. A text editor is only as good as the programmer makes it. Use the features to the full and you will see your professionalism show through your web pages.

There any many ftp clients on the web, most of which are perfectly suitable for the job. Obviously some of the clients that are the best require a fee but you can get on by using some slower ftp clients such as filezilla. Lastly if your thinking of developing graphically rich websites, you may want to get your hands on some image manipulation software. GIMP will do the job for linux pc's but for windows adobe photoshop will be a good start. It will take you a while to get used to the program so i recommend running through a few tutorials to get yourself acquainted. Once you have a fair grasp of the program you will begin to see what you can accomplish. To become a good graphic artist it will take some time and therefore reaching your goal of graphic rich web sites will take a little longer. However, think of a graphic rich website as an image cut and sliced then pieced back together on a web page. The process of creating a website is easier than you think.
